Firstly thanks to those that have helped us in the last year since our quest to cleanup this Island begun, though baby steps have been taken we are moving forward and seeing change!
I am sorry if I don’t thank everyone that has been a great help so far but for sure we know who you are, those that are new we are looking forward to working more with you!
Of course we know just picking up rubbish every month is not the ultimate answer, therefore the schools with education and awareness will be our main focus in 2016.
We will still do regular cleanups but quarterly rather than monthly, making it a bigger better planned event with hopefully more Resorts taking part .
Please see the proposed programs for this 2016 here, there will be more details to come as we work thru them with what it takes for costing/delivery/implementation.
I am keen to get everyones feedback to ensure we have covered for whats needed right now, once translated we can then present this to the relevant Government parties for their approval/assistance.
A management committee also needs to be formed with a clear purpose to drive these kind of initiatives and in an organised manner, let me know if you are interested or want to nominate someone!
NOW is also a great opportunity to introduce you an organisation that is tackling those such challenges as we have here, its name is Keep Vietnam Clean & Green or in the native language Vietnam Sach va Xanh.
Formed last year this will soon become an official national organisation, currently we have like minded people running similar campaigns in Danang/Hoi An, Mui Ne, HCM City (D7) and of course Phu Quoc.
We will work together as a group from buying t-shirts or other branded merchandise or sharing information about events/programs here which maybe can also be implemented in another place or used to raise awareness and/or get leverage through media channels.
You can find out more information about Vietnam Sach va Xanh from their FB page or website
If you can support us in any way whether financially, offering resources, skills, enthusiasm etc please let us know!
Thanks for reading…..any feedback, questions, suggestions fire away!
